Uttarakhand Association of North America (UANA) was established in order to bring together people of Uttarakhand origin from all over North America.

Our Vision:
To enrich the lives of the people of Uttarakhand living in North America by inspiring their mind and spirit to create a sense of pride in maintaining an unique Uttarakhandi identity in the North America, projecting the rich culture and heritage of Uttarakhand to our young generation in particular and fostering social & cultural awareness among the Uttarakhandi community in general.

Our Mission:
>
Promote awareness of Uttarakhandi ethnic identity and its cultural and spiritual heritage
> Plan and host periodic conferences and meetings to allow members to network, learn and share experiences for personal and career development.
> Organize seminars and symposia involving Uttarakhandi youth, as well as youths of other Indian origin with their American counterparts to discuss the assimilation of the first and second generation immigrants within the American mainstream.
> Organize events to raise funds for the relief of distress and other charitable causes
> Organize cultural events involving (without limitation) Uttarakhandi and other Indian traditional and contemporary songs, drama and dances

Driving Directions - Nicholas Music Center

From Route 18 North:
Follow Route 18 north past the entrance for the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 1.
After the first traffic light (Paulus Blvd.), bear right, following signs for New Brunswick Exits. Take the exit ramp to the left marked Route 172 – Cook/Douglass.
At the light, turn left onto Route 172 – Cook/Douglass.
Just before the first traffic light, make a right into the Performing Arts Center. Parking is on the left; the PAC is directly ahead.


From Route 18 South:
Follow Route 18 south toward downtown, and merge right into local lanes, following signs for the Commercial Avenue exit.
Take the Commercial Avenue exit.
As soon as possible, merge into the left lane.
At the second light, turn left onto George Street.
Proceed through the Ryders Lane/George Street traffic circle, bearing left.
Just before the next traffic light, take the right-hand jug handle and cross back over George Street. The Performing Arts Center is directly ahead. Parking is on the left; the PAC is directly ahead.


From the New Jersey Turnpike North & South:
Take Exit 9 (marked “New Brunswick”) off the Turnpike.
Follow signs for “Route 18 north – New Brunswick” and follow the Route 18 north directions.

From the Garden State Parkway Southbound (from North Jersey):

Follow Parkway to Exit 129 for the New Jersey Turnpike south.
Follow our directions from the New Jersey Turnpike.
From the Garden State Parkway Northbound (from South Jersey):
Take Exit 127 for I-287 to the New Jersey Turnpike south.
Follow our directions from New Jersey Turnpike.
From Route 27 North or South:
Take Route 18 south and follow our directions from Route 18 south.
From 287 North & South:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike south exit.

Follow our directions from the New Jersey Turnpike.

Parking
Parking is available in lots 79 and 79A (both near Hickman Hall) and 74A (near New Gibbons) for visitors only from 45 minutes prior to the scheduled performance time. Parking in Lot 73 (near Marryott Music Building) is not permitted for visitors.

These are all permit lots. Parking regulations are in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Rutgers faculty, staff, and students must follow all rules and regulations regarding lot assignment authorized by their particular permit. Go to rudots.rutgers.edu for up-to-date rules and regulations.

Handicap parking is available in the marked spaces adjacent to Nicholas Music Center. Due to fire codes, parking in the circle drive is prohibited.
